Grape Harvest

Harvest at the beginning of October with selection and thinning of the grapes. The ripening and sugar content of the grapes were good, far from the yields specified in the production guidelines (we are at 60/70 quintals per hectare), with a medium-low must volume yield (0.55/0.6). Vinification takes place in steel tanks without skin maceration for the entire fermentation, which is carried out at controlled temperatures, between 18 and 24°C. Cardonera, our Nebbiolo, then undergoes aging in wood, with a mixed composition of large barrels (20/25 hl) and some second/third-pass tonneaux.

Wine and Terroir

Planting year 2021. MICHET clone vines on American rootstock. Certified organic vineyard management with Simonit & Sirch pruning and vine care system. Fertilization every other year exclusively with local manure from NON-intensive farms. Row management with green manure and legumes to restore nitrogen to the soil.

The vineyard is located in a beautiful basin, historically known as 'ra vigna, at an average altitude of 440 m a.s.l. in Alta Langa, in the municipality of Monesiglio (CN). It has a SOUTH/SOUTH-EAST exposure. The soil consists of initial layers of a mixed sand-silt-clay composition with a golden-brown color typical of the more disintegrated layers of the Langa marls (here we have the Monesiglio and Serole formations). After a few meters of depth, the alternation begins between the layers of the Monesiglio formation, predominantly reddish sandy layers, which generally yield the typical Langa stones, alternating with grey marl, the so-called tufa. The Monesiglio formation often intersects with the Rocchetta formation, an older part consisting of thick layers of highly fractured and easily eroded grey-blue marl. This part of Langa has a defined geological era, belonging to the ancient Piedmontese Tertiary basin. In particular, here we find the sandstones of the Rocchetta-Monesiglio formation interspersed with the Serole formation (Miocene geological era: Serravallian-Tortonian).

Why buy our wine?

How is the wine shipped?

The wine is shipped in certified break-resistant packaging, specially designed for transporting bottles.

Are your wines organic?

Our wines come from organic farming and sustainable practices. You can find all information on our company page and on our product page.

Is wine a suitable gift?

Yes, wine has always been one of the most appreciated gifts, especially when it tells the story of a territory and an authentic history.

Our bottles come from selected vineyards in the Langhe and are ideal as a gift for birthdays, parties, special dinners, corporate anniversaries, or simply to make a good impression with a quality present.

Every wine is meticulously cared for, from production to packaging, and can be made even more special by choosing a gift box.

👉 If you want to go beyond the traditional gift, you can also give one of our winery experiences or adopt a vine, an original idea that allows you to experience wine firsthand and not just drink it.

What's the difference between artisanal wine and industrial wine?

Artisanal wine is produced in limited quantities, with greater attention to the quality of the grapes, the processing times, and the territory. The result is a more authentic wine that is more representative of its area of origin.

How to store wine after purchase?

Store the wine in a cool place, away from light and temperature fluctuations. Once opened, reseal the bottle tightly and store it in the refrigerator to preserve its characteristics.
