  • Wine and Land

Grafting vines with native Dolcetto clone, original vineyard planted in the 1940s, planting year 2019. Vineyard under certified organic management and Simonth&Sirch plant pruning and conservation system, fertilization exclusively with manure of local origin and not from intensive farming. The vineyard it is located on flat land at 400 m above sea level in Altalanga, Monesiglio (CN), SOUTH exposure. Very strong, silty/clayey soil, reddish in colour, which denotes the presence of iron oxides and hydroxides. Monesiglio has a defined geological era, it is part of the ancient Piedmont tertiary basin. In particular, here we are in the presence of the sandstones in the Rocchetta-Monesiglio formation (Miocene geological era: Serravallian-Tortonian).

  • Harvest

Selection and thinning of the grapes, harvest in mid-September, good maturation of the bunches, low yield due to the very low rainfall in the summer period and the high compactness of the soil. The vinification takes place in steel on the skins for the entire duration of the fermentation, maturation of the wine in glass-resin on the noble lees for 4/5 months.
